Named because it blooms around St John’s Day, 24 June, Anthemis sancti-johannis will flower its socks off a good month, providing a dazzling wave of orange daisies held on upright stalks. The flowers have large ray and disc florets, the whole flower being about 2” in diameter, and are a beacon for bees. These brilliant, pure orange flowers are a valuable colour in the June garden which tends to be dominated by violets and pinks, and it looks wonderful contrasted with purple salvias or blue geraniums. The perfect plant for dry, sun-baked spots on thin, poor soils, its fine, grey-green foliage will shake off parched conditions in scorching sun. Good for cutting. Height and Spread: 60cm (24”).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
