Aquilegia vulgaris var. stellata ‘Black Barlow’
Height x Spread: 90cm x 30cmÂ
This is one of the wonderful double flowered forms of columbine, where the flowers have no spurs but have numerous petals creating almost spherical flowers in spring. Â ‘Black Barlow’ is deliciously dark and really stands out mixed with whites, pale lemons or jewel colours such as lime greens and oranges. Â
Using them as cut flowers is possible and they make good plants for a part shady border in most soil types, as long as they are not too wet. A short lived perennial requiring replanting every 3-4 years to give you good plants.
Available for Mail Order from April – August
