Berberis X Media ‘Red Jewel’

Berberis x media ‘Red Jewel’ is named for its foliage which is bronze-red when young, before maturing through green to deeper purple as the season progresses. Pale yellow flowers are carried in spring, either individually or in clusters, and followed by rounded red berries in autumn. This semi evergreen Barberry has a dense rounded habit and prickly stems, making it perfect for hedging and deterring intruders. Berberis x media ‘Red Jewel’ is tough and resilient – well deserving its RHS AGM. Height: 200cm (78″). Spread: 250cm (98″).
