Bergenia Cordifolia ‘Bressingham White’

The perfect perennial for those difficult spots in dry shade, Bergenia provides useful evergreen ground cover, spring flowers and a feast of nectar for early pollinators. This low maintenance and adaptable plant spreads by rhizomes, colonising areas in sun or shade on any soil type. Large  rounded, leathery leaves form good weed-supressing cover and in spring sturdy stems bear clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers, slightly flushed with pink. The rounded foliage makes a good contrast with more finely textured shade-loving perennials such as ferns. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 45cm (18in). Spread: 60cm (24in).
