Calla palustris is a delightful marginal aquatic with a carefree, rambling habit. White arum-like flowers stand out against the glossy, heart shaped foliage from early summer, followed by dull red berries in autumn. The creeping stems of Bog Arum will gradually spread, rooting where they come into contact with the soil, and making this the perfect plant for disguising the edges of ponds. Calla palustris is particularly interesting as it is one of the few plants that are pollinated by snails, who are attracted by the flower’s fragrance. A useful and attractive hardy perennial for the shallow margins of ponds. Height: 25cm (10″). Spread: 60cm (24″). Planting depth: Zone 2 to 15cm below water level.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
