Dianthus Deltoides ‘Flashing Light’

This gorgeous Dianthus comes in a jewel-like ruby red with a deeper red eye-ring. Dianthus deltoides ‘Flashing Light’ produces an astounding quantity of flowers in late spring and then sporadically throughout the summer. Tucked between rocks and crevices, tumbling over walls or from containers or making a graceful edge to a pathway, it’s a neat little plant that offers evergreen mats of weed suppressing ground cover as well as weeks of dainty, starry flowers that are attractive to pollinators. This easy-care, long-flowering perennial is a superb performer in hot, dry sunny sites with poor soil. It also makes a rewarding, drought-tolerant choice for container growing.
