Who would have thought it possible to see a Jacaranda tree flowering in the UK? This exciting new dwarf variety makes that dream a reality! These tropical beauties would usually reach 15m or more, withholding their clouds of purple-blue flowers for at least 10 years.
Bred in Japan, this stunning dwarf blooms from a height of just 70cm (28”) and reaches its full potential at around 1.5m (5’) tall! A head of delicate, ferny foliage makes Jacaranda ‘Bonsai Blue’ an attractive dwarf specimen tree for exotic planting schemes and patio containers.
This tender tree will survive a minimum temperature of -2C (28F), but is best grown in a container which can be brought into a heated greenhouse or conservatory during the winter months. It can be returned to the patio as the weather warms in the following spring. Height: 150cm (5’). Spread: 60cm (24″).
