Fully hardy in the UK, this deciduous, slow growing shrub eventually becomes a spreading tree so allow it sufficient space. Oval-elliptic dark green leaves with a paler grey-green and downy undersides appear before the flowers. Magnolia sieboldii is later to bud and flower than many Magnolia species. Richly scented, white, cup shaped flowers with crimson-purple centres make a fabulous display. The plant becomes clothed with these beautiful gently nodding flowers from May through to July and possibly into August. Crimson fruit clusters appear in autumn. Height and spread: to 6m (20′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
