This striking British native is a vigorous deep water aquatic with leathery, dark green foliage, similar to that of a water lily. From June to August this submerged hardy perennial sends up golden cup-shaped blooms that smell of alcohol, hence the common name of Brandy Bottle. Nuphar lutea is a versatile plant tolerating both running water and heavy shade. With its wide, spreading habit, it is best given plenty of space to grow, making this an ideal choice for large ponds and lakes. Height: 100cm (39″). Spread: 200cm (78″). Planting depth: Zone 4 to 1m (39″) below water level.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
