Oenothera ‘Sunset Boulevard’

The glowing, subtly shifting hues of Oenothera ‘Sunset Boulevard’ are simply stunning. Few perennials offer a colour palette in this range, making ‘Sunset Boulevard’ an especially valuable addition to the border. Upright spikes carry whorls of large, cup-shaped flowers which open in the daytime. The blooms transition from pale tangerine to apricot and finish crimson red, the combination of open and spent blooms creating a gorgeous glowing sunset when backlit in the afternoon sun. ‘Sunset Boulevard’ flowers freely from summer to autumn, and is well-suited to cottage gardens, coastal areas, dry gardens and rockeries. If wished, flowers can be allowed to self-seed – effortlessly creating splashes of colour through informal borders where they will attract plenty of pollinators. Height: 100cm (40”).
