Tough but beautiful, Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Silver Mist’ is a grass-like evergreen perennial forming tufts of silvery variegated foliage. Tiny spikes of pale lavender flowers appear in late summer to autumn and are sometimes followed by small, glossy purple berries.
Low maintenance and untroubled by pests or disease, it provides all-year-round colour and texture in partial to full shade. Its spreading rhizomes will create carpets of weed-suppressing ground cover in borders and underplanted beneath trees and shrubs. The fine leaves contrast well with other low-growing perennials and are great for softening path edges and adding texture to winter containers. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
