Privet hedging, particularly the Ligustrum Ovalifolium variety, is an outstanding choice of hedge thanks to its ability to thrive in various soil conditions and locations. It was introduced from Japan in 1885 and is renowned for its beauty and versatile properties. Privet hedging requires regular trimming at least three times a year and can lose leaves during colder weather or when exposed to harsh winds. It is also known as the oval leafed privet, and if left untrimmed is known to produce white flowers that are followed by blackberries; however, regular maintenance will likely prohibit these blooms.
